SAVE WHITE ROCK LAKE PARK
KEEP IT NATURAL - NO MORE UNNECESSARY LIGHTS

The City plans to install 650 light poles around the lake!

• Tell the City to remove the West Lawther light poles and to not plan any more

  • • Plan no more lights on the shoreline or nature trail
  • • No Parking After Dark in the park unless the lot serves a specific night use: Dog Park, Winfrey Point, boat clubs, Bath House, etc.

After the public outcry over the West Lawther light poles, Councilman Kadane convened a task force group to address lighting at the lake. The task force included following key stake-holders:

• White Rock Neighborhood Association

  • • Peninsula Neighborhood Association
  • • For the Love of the Lake
  • • Corinthian Sailing Club
  • • White Rock Boat House (rowing clubs)
  • • White Rock Lake Foundation
  • • Greater Dallas Bicycle Club

The consensus of the Task Force was as follows:

  • • Remove the existing West Lawther light poles
  • • Plan no more lights to protect natural environment
  • • No lights on the nature trail or shoreline to protect lake views
  • • No Parking at night in the park, unless for a specific activity (Winfrey Point, Dog Park, Bath House, etc.)
